Photography tips

How this image was taken

This shot was taken with a 400 mm focal length and a shutter speed of 1/500 s to capture the animal sharply despite distance and movement. The aperture of f/6.3 allowed for sufficient depth while using a high ISO of 6400 to correctly expose the shaded area.

  • Use a long focal length to capture the subject frame-filling from a distance.
  • Select a fast shutter speed to avoid motion blur of the animal.
  • Focus on intentional composition by using natural elements like branches as foreground to create depth.
