Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night shot, the shutter speed of 1/2 second combined with an aperture of f/3.5 captures sufficient light, while the ISO 500 keeps digital noise low. The 12 mm focal length allows for the wide perspective of the fountain display.
- Use a longer shutter speed to capture the movement of the water and emphasize the reflections on the surface.
- Utilize a wide-angle lens to include the full width of the illuminated scenery in the Lucerne lake basin.
- Select an open aperture to allow enough light onto the sensor in low-light conditions and to highlight the vibrant colors.
