Photography tips
How this image was taken
Using a focal length of 300 mm creates a strong optical compression, while the aperture of f/6.3 provides a soft blur in the foreground at this distance. The shutter speed of 1/125 s and the ISO value of 400 allow for a sufficiently short exposure in this autumnal setting with moderate image noise.
- Use the 300 mm focal length to bring distant subjects closer and to isolate details within the forest.
- Compose your image with a blurred foreground by deliberately positioning nearby branches or leaves in front of the lens.
- Ensure you use a shutter speed short enough to prevent camera shake when shooting with longer focal lengths.
