Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this shot, an aperture of f/22 was selected to create the sunstar effect as the evening sun emerges from behind the gable. The shutter speed of 1/100 s and ISO 500 ensure proper exposure of the historic facades while using a narrow aperture.
- Use a narrow aperture like f/22 to create a distinct sunstar licht effect when shooting directly into the light.
- Position the light source precisely behind the edge of a building to control the appearance of the flare.
- Choose a medium focal length of 45 mm to capture the architectural details of the town hall in a balanced way.
