Photography tips
How this image was taken
In this shot, the aperture of f/16 provides a deep depth of field, while the shutter speed of 1/125 s is sufficient to freeze the movement of the flag in moderate wind. The combination of ISO 200 and the selected aperture ensures that both the foreground subject and the city backdrop are rendered with detail.
- Use a stopped-down aperture like f/16 to achieve deep depth of field when capturing both a foreground element and the background.
- Select a fast enough shutter speed when photographing a waving flag to ensure the texture of the fabric remains sharp.
- Use a focal length around 36 mm to capture a balanced relationship between the prominent subject and the city scenery.
