Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this shot in bright daylight, an aperture of f/18 was chosen to achieve high depth of field, ensuring both the alphorn players and the rock face in the background remain sharp. The shutter speed of 1/320 s provides a crisp image of the individuals without motion blur.
- Use a small aperture when you want consistent sharpness throughout a landscape composition that includes foreground subjects.
- Pay attention to a fast shutter speed to freeze moments involving people in action.
- Select a normal focal length to keep the proportions between the subjects and the impressive backdrop appearing natural.
