Photography tips
How this image was taken
In this night shot, the shutter speed of 4 seconds and the small aperture of f/20 ensure great depth of field and the characteristic star effect on light sources. The ISO of 800 compensates for the low light levels caused by the small aperture.
- Use a wide-angle focal length such as 15 mm to capture the entire scenery of the illuminated Europaplatz and the lake basin.
- Choose a small aperture (high f-number) to render point light sources like string lights or street lamps as starbursts.
- Ensure a steady camera position when using longer shutter speeds to avoid motion blur.
