Photography tips
How this image was taken
In this night shot, the long exposure time of 4 seconds provides an even illumination of the lights, while the aperture of f/18 allows for great depth of field, keeping both the foreground and background in focus.
- Use a small aperture to create a starburst effect on the individual points of the Christmas lights.
- Choose a longer shutter speed to balance the contrast between the string lights and the night scenery.
- Pay attention to your focal length to frame a balanced composition that highlights the illuminated Christmas tree in the foreground.
