Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this nocturnal shot, a shutter speed of one second was chosen to achieve balanced exposure at ISO 1000 and f/9 in dark conditions. The 12 mm focal length provides a wide perspective, capturing both the architecture and the Christmas atmosphere.
- Use a one-second shutter speed to create motion blur, which adds a sense of dynamism to the people moving in the frame.
- Select a small aperture like f/9 to maintain consistent depth of field from the foreground trees to the KKL architecture.
- Experiment with a 12 mm wide-angle focal length to make the Christmas trees and the surrounding architecture appear imposing.
