Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night scene, the shutter speed of 2.5 seconds combined with an aperture of f/11 ensures detailed rendering of the lights and their reflections on the water surface. The ISO 800 setting provides sufficient exposure in these low-light conditions.
- Use a narrow aperture such as f/11 to achieve a distinct starburst effect on bright light sources.
- Choose a long shutter speed to capture the reflections of the Christmas lights on the water in a smooth and calm way.
- Apply a 12 mm focal length to achieve a wide field of view that incorporates both the foreground and the surrounding panorama.
