Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night shot, a shutter speed of 4 s was chosen to capture sufficient ambient light, while the aperture of f/18 provides deep depth of field. The focal length of 12 mm allowed for a wide capture of the night-time waterfront.
- Use a long shutter speed to capture the reflections of the lights on the water's surface.
- Select a small aperture like f/18 to render point light sources as small stars.
- Use a wide-angle lens to fit the entire breadth of the waterfront into your frame.
