Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this image, a shutter speed of 5 seconds and an aperture of f/20 were used to carefully manage light intake, ensuring sharp details despite the high contrast of night lights. The 20 mm focal length provides a wide overview of the market scene.
- Use a small aperture like f/20 to create a starburst effect around the various light sources.
- Select a longer shutter speed to gather enough light from the dark surroundings, which requires maintaining a perfectly steady camera.
- Focus on your composition by using a wide-angle lens to establish a balanced relationship between the foreground activity and the distant city skyline.
