Photography tips
How this image was taken
This shot in low light uses a shutter speed of 1/13 s and ISO 1000 to capture the ambient illumination of the Christmas lights at f/4 despite the dark conditions.
- Choose a framing that highlights the red ornaments as a contrast to the warm lights.
- Maintain a steady posture or use a surface for stability, as a shutter speed of 1/13 s at a focal length of 29 mm is prone to camera shake.
- Use the aperture of f/4 to achieve a balanced separation between the illuminated pine branches and the background.
