Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this nocturnal shot, the 25 s exposure time ensures sufficient light for the dark surroundings, while the f/10 aperture provides a deep depth of field to capture both the heart and the city of Lucerne in focus.
- Choose a longer exposure time to allow enough of the city's ambient light to reach the sensor.
- Use a mid-range aperture like f/10 to keep the details of the glowing object and the night scenery sharp simultaneously.
- Employ an 18 mm focal length to achieve a wide frame, effectively integrating the foreground subject into the cityscape.
