Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night shot, the shutter speed of 1.6 s captures the ambient light, while the aperture of f/9 ensures sharp details. An ISO of 1000 balances the need for light sensitivity during this exposure.
- Use a long shutter speed to effectively record the glow of the candles and the star against the dark background.
- Select a narrow aperture like f/9 to keep both the facade and the candle-lit steps in focus.
- Use a wide-angle lens at 12 mm to capture the height of the architecture and the leading lines of the candles in the foreground.
