Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night shot, the shutter speed of 2.5 seconds ensures sufficient light capture, while the aperture of f/11 provides deep depth of field, and the ISO 800 creates a balance between light sensitivity and image noise. The 30 mm focal length captures the scene with a natural field of view.
- Use a long shutter speed to capture the light reflections of the Christmas display on the dark water.
- Select a closed aperture like f/11 to ensure the light sources appear as distinct points and the details of the decoration remain sharp.
- Adjust the ISO sensitivity according to the light levels to correctly render the fine lights without excessive image noise.
