Photography tips
How this image was taken
With a shutter speed of 2.5 seconds, moving light sources are rendered as distinct lines, while the aperture of f/11 ensures depth of field and an ISO of 1600 provides the necessary sensitivity for this night scene.
- Select a longer shutter speed to capture the movement of vehicles as continuous light trails.
- Use a closed aperture like f/11 to achieve a star-like effect on the decorative Christmas lights.
- Experiment with the ISO setting to maintain sufficient exposure for both the surroundings and the light trails in low light conditions.
