Photography tips
How this image was taken
For this night shot, a shutter speed of 1.6 s was chosen to allow sufficient light onto the sensor despite the darkness, while the aperture of f/4 renders the light sources softly and an ISO of 1000 provides the necessary sensitivity. A focal length of 35 mm helps to achieve a natural field of view.
- Use a longer shutter speed to effectively capture the available light from the Christmas decorations.
- Choose a wide aperture such as f/4 to gather enough light in low-light conditions.
- Adjust your ISO level moderately to maintain a balance between light sensitivity and image noise in dark environments.
